Here are the Arbors we are celebrating International Left Handers Day. International Left Handers Day on August 13th recognizes everyone who has mastered using their left hand in a right-handed world. We take our hats off to you – left-handed! We are celebrating it with some creative art.
Cheerful day at The Arbors! We celebrated National Rootbeer Float day with some great music and a little dancing.
Congrats!! Velma Arellano, Creator and Ruth Dennis, Senior Social Services Director/Author are celebrating twenty years working together! They met in 1999 and embarked onto a journey in which New Mexico had never seen before. They created a state-of-the-art, stand alone, Alzheimer’s and Dementia focused facility. They created it with an intention to provide excellent, specialized care to a community that very much needed it. Over the years Vista Living Care has grown and expanded with two locations in Santa Fe, and one in Las Cruces. After all this time, Velma and Ruth are just as passionate about providing intentional care as the day they met in 1999.
Happy Birthday Bertha!!
We recently celebrated our sweet Elder Bertha's birthday at the Arbors. Bertha has put a smile on many faces and is very kind and funny. We wish her all the health and happiness in the world! The Arbors home in Las Cruces, NM got a surprise visit from special guests! The Mayfield Marching Band came to visit the elders at the Arbors. These sweet kids brought our elders so much joy and happiness.
Today Sierra Vista Elders and staff got to enjoy root beer float day with the Elders and Hermana’s from the Latter-Day Saints Church group. This group of talented young men and women come every Tuesday and share the gift of music and companionship with Sierra Vista Elders. The joy that friendship, music, and ice cream can bring, is immeasurable!
These three lovely ladies, Carol Valdez from Sierra Vista, Yolanda Rodriguez and Ruth Dennis from Vista Hermosa, just attended a workshop on fall prevention, We always make sure that safety is a priority at all three of our homes, and are constantly having our awesome staff stay current on the best practices. To see more of what these ladies learned about in their workshop, click on the photo above!
